It's the Pandemic Baby and Everybody needs to make some Moola
Or: How you are being played and sucked dry
Well hello there! Just thought I would write a quick post on a “News“ article from Reuters I just happened to become aware off.
Note the date. So this ‘Emergency Use Authorization‘ has been given by the WHO on the 28th of November 2023………… you know, cause there is an ongoing Pandemic… An Emergency! We desperately need more vaccine options! The WHO needs to act! Really! Without that specific authorization how else are the investors to make their billions… hang on… this might not be about your health?
Lets take a closer look, shall we? First lets look at the article and then we shall see what we can find. Start from the beginning, go down paragraph by paragraph.
Nov 28 (Reuters) - Novavax's (NVAX.O) updated vaccine has been granted emergency-use authorization by the World Health Organization (WHO) for active immunization to prevent COVID-19 in individuals aged 12 and older, the company said on Tuesday.
Ok. So Novavax (quotes from their press release are going to be in Italic) got emergency-use authorization by the WHO… is that what they got, Reuters? Shall we look at their own press release, which you marvels of journalism managed to not put a link to in your article?
Nuvaxovid™ XBB.1.5 COVID-19 Vaccine (NVX-CoV2601) has been granted Emergency Use Listing (EUL) by the World Health Organization (WHO)
Am I splitting hairs here, when pointing out that ‘authorization‘ and ‘listing‘ might be different? Maybe they ‘mean‘ the same thing but certainly sound different… always make sure to use the word which offers the biggest gain in terms of manipulation, ey? As an editor, I would have made you change that, Pratik Jain in Bengaluru.
But so why an emergency-use listing you may ask? Is there still a Pandemic? Like what are the new case numbers? What are the new deaths? In the last 7 days maybe? Take a look and then you might be able to answer that question for yourself.
Does that look like there is still a PANDEMIC? Really? Your perception may differ, but I certainly do not think so. Next paragraph…
The updated Novavax shot, which was authorized in the U.S. last month, targets a descendant of the XBB lineage of the coronavirus that was globally predominant earlier this year.
Looks like the WHO is sort of behind a little… tardy I would say! What does Novavax say?
Nuvaxovid™ XBB.1.5 COVID-19 Vaccine (NVX-CoV2601)…induced functional immune responses against XBB.1.5, XBB.1.16 and XBB.2.3 variants. Additional non-clinical data demonstrated that Novavax's vaccine induced neutralizing antibody responses to subvariants BA.2.86, EG.5.1, FL.1.5.1 and XBB.1.16.6 as well as CD4+ polyfunctional cellular (T-cell) responses against EG.5.1 and XBB.1.16.6. These data indicate Novavax's vaccine can stimulate both arms of the immune system and may induce a broad response against currently circulating variants.5,6
Oh, you noticed that the spike is from XBB.1.5? Hm… what does the WHO say about that variant and it’s prevalence? Lets check here. Downloading the PDF of the COVID-19 Epidemiological Update - 24 November 2023 delivers the following 2 tables on page 18:
Looks to me like this is one of those fabulous new vaccines that allow for rapid change in the targeted protein… by the look of things not fast enough. XBB1.5 is on its way out and certainly not relevant in comparison to EG.5. But hey! At least Novavax can now start cranking out their product to 194 markets, am I right, up top?
The emergency use listing helps speed up the regulatory approvals to import and administer the vaccines by member states, according to the WHO.
Well that is awkward… the US already approved that last month… oh… maybe it is for those lazy no good member states that have not yet moved a finger on that authorization?
Novavax's updated COVID-19 vaccine is also authorized in the U.S. and the European Union, and is under review in other markets.
Ah yes. It is about markets. Not the health and safety of the populations in those markets. Who knew? …Sorry, correction! WHO knew. (← I will get to that further down this post…)
Novavax missed out on the COVID-19 vaccine windfall, which benefited mRNA rivals, due to manufacturing issues that delayed its filing for regulatory approval during the peak of the pandemic.
There we go! Reuters providing the real reason for this move by the WHO. Novavax ‘missed out‘… not ‘there was a real need to save lives‘. Nope. Novavax just got delayed. They should have been making billions all along… it was propably ‘force majeure’, so come on, give Novavax some slack… and some $ billion, please…
Its original COVID shot received U.S. authorization in July 2022, long after Pfizer (PFE.N) and Moderna (MRNA.O) vaccines were in use.
Long after Pfizer and Moderna had been making billions upon billions upon billions.
Novavax's updated shot uses a more traditional protein-based technology than the mRNA-based vaccines by Pfizer and Moderna.
Whoopsie! Almost missed that little lie! What was that? A ‘more traditional protein-based technology‘? Care to list any of the vaccines that used the approach for the Novavax vaccine? No? Why? Because there are none? How bizzare! And here you said the technology used was more traditional… ah well… Reuters, you know… can’t get everything right…
Novavax is creating 50nm diameter lipid nanoparticles and sticks spike protein onto those… completely traditional… not.
And the last short paragraph… one entire sentence actually talks about what is the real important news here:
Shares of Maryland-based vaccine maker Novavax rose 1.8% to $5.6 in premarket trading.
There you go! Money! Ah, sometimes it can be as easy as reading the last sentence of an article!
But wait! There is actually more! Do you know anything about Novavax? No? Come along then and lets fuck around and find out!
Novavax was founded 1987. And I have found a very interesting little article on an obscure webpage called ‘www.science.org‘. Who comes up with those name?
Novavax, a once-struggling biotech company that was rescued by $2 billion in funding for its promising COVID-19 vaccine candidate from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the U.S. government, … Nonetheless, despite a nearly 30-year history making vaccines, Novavax has never won regulatory approval for one of its candidates, and whether the pandemic will finally change that remains to be seen.
Sometimes you just cannot make this shit up. You just have to follow a few links and the picture you get makes you feel like you need to go take a shower… or multiple. To clarify.
Novavax faced an existential threat: delisting by the NASDAQ stock index. On the heels of a second failed vaccine trial in less than 3 years, the firm's shares had plunged to less than $1 for 30 straight days, triggering a warning by NASDAQ. Frantic to conserve cash, the company sold its two Maryland manufacturing facilities, slicing its payroll by more than 100 employees. By January, it employed only 166 people.
That bit was from the link I left in the above quote. So Novavax was on its way out. A biotech company that could not make a product worth selling. No longer listed by NASDQA, selling manufacturing facilities and putting it employees to work… on the streets of Maryland. Yet, here we are. Why? Because of the generous U.S. government (your tax payer dollars) and some obscure Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations… short CEPI.
Quick check on the platform of ‘choice‘ and we see someone familiar smirking back at us:
Do I need to point out all the shit that is CEPI? Ok… I’ll do it. First that slappable face is of Jeremy “Burner Phones“ Farrar. Former director of the Wellcome Trust, now Chief Scientist of, wait for it, yes, the WHO. CEPI was founded where? In Davos you say? Oh how fun! And who were founding partners? Klaus Schwab’s WEF? And the B&M Gates Foundation? *showering noises… retching…noises of violent scrubbing*
Farrar was, according to this article from CEPI, a voting board member until January 2022, when he stepped down. But of course why would he not be on the board of the organization that he helped create?
And if you have not looked into it, one member of the Scientific Advisory board is Christaian Drosten… you know, the guy who asked Fauci whether they were not supposed to get together to strongly oppose that ‘conspiracy‘ theory about the lab origin… the one who helped write that paper which was peer-reviewed in record time together with Corman…you know that new multimillionaire…
Speaking about millionaires and money. Remember I said I would com back to “WHO knew“?
Well, Farrar is now Chief Scientist at the WHO. What does a Chief Scientist do? Could it be that they are involved in putting vaccines on to that Emergency-use Listing so that it could be introduced to new markets? Would that not be really marvelous for all of those who invested $2 billion into a company that was already on its way out and were waiting to recoup their investments and then some? *ca-ching*
